Anything and Something in Spanish = Algo
To say “anything” or “something” in Spanish you will say:
- anything/something = algo
This rule is true for affirmative sentences and in questions.
An affirmative sentence is a sentence that is NOT a negation.
Please have a look at some examples:
Voy a ir al médico para que me recete algo para el catarro.
I’m going to the doctor to get something for my cold.
Vamos a pedir algo para cenar.
Let’s order something for dinner.
In affirmative sentences algo means something.
¿Necesitas algo para limpiarte?
Do you need anything to clean yourself?
¿Tienes algo más que decir?
Do you have anything else to say?
In questions algo means anything.
