To say “before/after doing something” in Spanish you will say:
- before/after doing something = antes de/después de + infinitive
Here are some examples:
Él lee antes de dormir.
He reads before bedtime.
Tom estudia después de cenar.

Before/After Having Done Something in Spanish
To say “before/after having done something” in Spanish you will say:
- before/after having done something = antes de/después de + [haber + participle]
Here are some examples:
No renuncies a tu trabajo antes de haber hablado con tu supervisor.
Don’t quit your job before you have spoken to your supervisor.
Beethoven compuso música mucho después de haber perdido la audición.
Beethoven composed music long after he had lost his hearing.
Después de haber conducido por 3 horas, necesito estirar las piernas.
After driving for 3 hours, I need to stretch my legs.
Vanesa empezó a cantar antes de haber empezado a caminar.
Vanessa started singing before she had even started walking.
Una semana después de haberle pagado, todavía no hemos recibido respuesta.
A week after paying him, we have still not received a reply.
This construction puts an emphasis on the competition of the action of the main verb in the past.
You may see pronouns attached right after haber (haberle). Please don’t forget that they have to be attached right after haber and not anywhere else.
