However, at times, cierto can also mean “true/truthful”, “sure”, or “reliable”.

Puede ser cierto lo que publica el New York Times, pero me cuesta creerlo.
The New York Times may be right, but I find it hard to believe.
It is also possible for cierto to mean “partial” or “a bit of”.
