This section will show you how regular -ir verbs are conjugated in the subjonctif passé.

There is a two step method that will make everything very easy for you.

In order to conjugate verbs that end with -ir in the subjonctif passé one must:

1. Conjugate avoir in the subjonctif présent
2. Add the particip passé

The verb choisir means “to choose” in English.

We will take this verb and conjugate it in the “je” form using the two step method.

1. aie

The je form of avoir in the subjonctif présent is aie.

2. choisi

The particip passé of choisir is choisi.

So, the je form of choisir in the subjonctif passé is:

que j’aie choisi

• regular -er verbs
• regular -ir verbs
• regular -re verbs

The regular -ir verbs group is the second biggest group. Many French verbs fall in this group.
