To express that one does something a lot, you will use mucho:
- [verb] mucho = [verb] a lot / much
Please have a look at the following examples.
Mi primo trabaja mucho.
My cousin works a lot.
¿Usted viaja mucho?
Do you travel much?
You can see that after every verb “mucho“ was used.
Mucho + [uncountable masculine singular noun] = A Lot / Much [uncountable masculine singular noun]
To express a lot/many/much you will use mucho:
- mucho + [uncountable masculine singular noun] = a lot / much [uncountable masculine singular noun]
Yo tengo muchos deberes.
I have a lot of homework.
Hay mucha nieve fuera.
There is a lot of snow outside.
Hay mucho tráfico en Madrid.
There’s a lot of traffic in Madrid.
In every sentence there is an uncountable noun.
You cannot say 1 or 2 traffic for example.
Muy [adjective] / [adverb] = Very [adjective] / [adverb]
To express “very” you will use muy:
- muy [adjective]/[adverb] = very [adjective]/[adverb]

Mi esposa es muy hermosa.
My wife is very beautiful.
Mi mejor amigo es muy estúpido.
My best friend is very stupid.
Mi tío camina muy despacio.
My uncle walks very slowly.
Usain Bolt corre muy rápido.
Usain Bolt runs very quickly.
In the first two sentences you can find the adjectives, and in the last two you can find the adverbs.
