How to Negate in Spanish
To negate in Spanish, you have to put “no” before the verb.
No veo la televisión.
I don’t watch television.
Carlos no habla mucho.
Carlos doesn’t talk a lot.
Mis padres no viajan.
My parents don’t travel.
In every sentence “no” is placed before the verb to negate it.
Some sentences use reflexive verbs.
To negate sentences with reflexive verbs, you have to put the “no” before the reflexive pronouns.
The reflexive pronouns are: me, te, se, le, nos, os, les
No me olvido de nada.
I don’t forget anything.
Carla no se levanta antes de las 9 los sábados.
Carla doesn’t wake up before 9 o’clock on Saturdays
No nos preocupamos por estas cosas.
We don’t worry about these things.
In every sentence “no” is placed before the reflexive pronouns.
