Je pense que quelqu’un m’a appelé.

I think that someone has called me.

J’ai entendu quelqu’un appeler votre nom.

I heard someone call your name.

Quelqu’un m’a envoyé une lettre.

Someone has sent me a letter.

You can also use quelqu’un in questions.

In a question, quelqu’un will mean “someone/anyone”.

Est-ce que quelqu’un a vu mes enfants ?

Has someone/anyone seen my children?

Est-ce que quelqu’un a vu mon téléphone ?

Has someone/anyone seen my phone?

Est-ce que quelqu’un connaît la réponse ?

Someone else in French is quelqu’un d’autre.

Please have a look at some examples with this phrase:

Est-ce que quelqu’un d’autre peut le faire pour moi ?

Can someone else do it for me?

Elle l’a pris pour quelqu’un d’autre.

She mistook him for someone else.

C’est le problème de quelqu’un d’autre.
