You use superlatives to express that something/someone is inferior or superior to something/someone else.
In the table above you can see the superlatives of French adjectives.

This is the least delicous pie.
Ce sont les plats les moins délicieux.
These are the least delicious dishes.
Jean est le plus intelligent.

As you can see, both the definite article (le, la, les) and the adjective agree in gender and in number with the noun that they refer to.
