To express time in Spanish, you will use the following terms:

  • A principios de …= At the beginning of …
  • A mediados de … = mid …
  • A finales de … = At the end of …

Here are some examples:

Los resultados de la investigación se publicaron a principios de 1998.

The results of the research were published at the beginning of 1998.

La piscina está abierta de mayo a mediados de octubre.

The swimming pool is open from May to mid-October.

Visitamos este sitio a finales de abril de 2016.

We visited this place at the end of April 2016.

Please note that you don’t use the plural article “los” (the) as you would in English.
