To say “someone” or “anyone” in Spanish you will say:
- someone/anyone = alguien
Alguien will only be used for people, it will not be used for things or animals.
There is one only form which is the singular, there is no plural form.
Please have a look at some examples:
He invitado a alguien a casa. Quiero que le conozcáis.
I have invited someone home. I want you to meet him. (you=vosotros)
Hemos visto a alguien salir de nuestro jardín.
We have seen someone coming out of our garden.
In affirmative sentences alguien means someone.
¿Alguna vez has conocido a alguien de Colombia?
Have you ever met anyone from Colombia?
¿Alguien necesita algo del supermercado?

In questions alguien means anyone.
