Spanish Regular Adjectives That are Singular

Spanish regular adjective that are singular:

  • end with -o for masculine
  • end with -a for feminine

Please have a look at the following examples.

El chico rápido.

The fast boy.

Es muy fácil encontrar un apartamento barato aquí.

It is very easy to find a cheap apartment here.

Tengo un coche rojo.

I have a red car.

La chica rápida.

The fast girl.

Es muy difícil encontrar una casa barata aquí.

It is very hard to find a cheap house here.

Tengo una bicicleta roja.

I have a red bicycle.

The first three examples are masculine.

The noun uses the masculine articles “el” or “un” and the adjectives have an –o as their ending.

The last three example are feminine.

The nouns use the feminine article “la” or “una” and then have an –a as their ending.

Spanish Regular Adjectives That are Plural

Spanish regular adjectives that are plural:

  • end with an -os for masculine
  • end with an -as for feminine

Please have a look at the following examples.

Los chicos son graciosos.

The boys are funny.

Mis hermanos son amistosos.

My brothers are friendly.

Estos libros son famosos.

These books are famous.

Las chicas son graciosas.

The girls are funny.

Mis hermanas son amistosas.

My sisters are friendly.

Esas actrices famosas son de mi ciudad.

Those famous actresses are from my city.

The first three examples are masculine.

The nouns use the masculine definite article “los” and the adjectives have an –os as their ending.

The last three examples are feminine.
