Como is a conjunction.
Como means “like” or “as” when it is used to make a comparison or start a subordinate clause.
Here are some examples:
Como te he explicado ya varias veces, nadie tiene la culpa de tus errores.
As I have already explained to you several times, nobody is to blame for your mistakes.
Hay pocas personas como ella en el mundo. Es única.
There are few people like her in the world. She is unique.
Please note that if you follow como with a verb then it can also refer to eating.
No como mucha carne.
I don’t eat a lot of meat.
Cómo [With an Acccent]
You use cómo in questions and in direct and indirect exclamatory sentences.
Cómo means “how”.
Here are some examples:
¿Cómo desea la carne? ¿Poco hecha o al punto?
How would you like your meat: rare or well done?
Todavía no entiendo cómo nos han podido engañar así.
I still don’t understand how we could have been fooled like this.
¡Cómo me gusta veros tan felices!
How I love to see you so happy!
